A new team in 2001, Barlestone Guides debuted at the Leicester SpokesFest SuperSprints event with one car bought from Adrian Toms. They clearly enjoyed it as following this race they took the Italian Karbyk into their care, thus allowing them to race two teams at the season closer, Curborough, one of which came third in its class.

Bags of enthusiasm, a quick learning curve and a new car, built in-house, brought an ever improving line of results during 2002, when they entered most of the BPCC races and a couple of Scoutcar events, taking great pride in beating some longer-established, older, all-male teams along the way.

Watch out for a full season in 2003.
