Barlestone Guiding in training for SpokesFest

Local team prepare for Super Sprints debut

A team made up of guides and young leaders from units in Barlestone have entered the 'SpokesFest Super Sprints' to be held on the 28 July in Leicester. On the Sunday (10am-4pm), SpokesFest are hosting a "come and try" event in the same location, with an assortment of bikes and at least a couple of pedal cars, which Barlestone Guiding will also be attending.

There are expected to be at least 13 other teams racing, travelling from as far away as Italy and it is expected that Barlestone Guiding will be the only team from Leicestershire taking part. The Barlestone Guiding team are currently preparing the Pedal Car and are training for the event. They were pleased to be able to give the first public appearance of the Pedal Car at Mallory Park on Monday 18th June as part of Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Councils 2001 Festival of Cycling - Ride the Mallory Mile event.
